If you do not want to do the new win/lost ratio calculation.

There is also a sample worksheet posted.

Examples - How the NEW current season record formula works

e.g. 30 - 4 and 23 - 3 give same 71 record points.

Armdrag just posted NYSPHSAA D1 and D2 Entries.

For D1, there are 5 Alternate place-holders. For D2, there are 4 Alternate place-holders..

Alternate 1 -
Alternate 2 -
Alternate 3 -
Alternate 4 -
Alternate 5 -

I think Massena is the only D1 team in section 10 (it was that way last year). I think this is saying they are not entering a wrestler at 99 so there will be 5 wildcards.

Massena, only D1 in section 10 does not appear to be sending a team to state this year. All D1 weight classes get a 5th slot.

Looks like 7 and 10 doesn’t have any D-1 kids so do they get wild cards for both of them making it 6 wild cards

Correction, that is D2 for 7 and 10.

There were no D1 for 7 last year and that did not affect the total wild card slots. Only D1 for 10 affected some D1 wild card slots.

Here is the wild card announcement from last year.

http://newyorksportswriters.org/blog/2018-02-14-nysphsaa-wrestling-wildcards.shtml

Leading off today: The at-large berths for next week's state wrestling championships in Albany were announced on Wednesday.
Most classes have four wildcards. The 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 170, 182,195 and 285 classes in Division I each have a fifth at-large qualifier because Section 10 does not have an entry

I believe 5 wildcards are the most, normally you only get 4. The reason for the 5th is when Massena who is D1 for section 10 doesn't send someone. Last year they did send some wrestlers. The weight classes that they entered a wrestler had 4 wildcards, the weight classes they didn't enter a wrestler had 5. If it is true they are not entering any wrestlers, all weight classes would have 5.

I took a deeper look and it looks like 106lb,113lb and 195lb did not get a 5th wild card slot.
