Greece Olympia's first ever trip to Union Endicott Duals showed that the coaches and team are certainly headed in the right direction. Their 1st match was a close win over #24 state ranked Mexico 35-31. After what, to this writer, seemed like a 1 hour rest they faced a fresh #1 ranked Spencerport. Earlier this season GO lost a dual meet to Specerport 36-15 with 3 match losses coming by 1 point each and 5 matches totaling 12 points. This time, however, Specerport was just too strong and beat GO easily 44-9(?). GO's next match was against #10 Gouverneur and they were in it to the end. A win would get them in a match for a 5th/6th place tournament finish. Trailing by 8 and needing last 2 match wins they got only won and ended up losing by 8. Some early postings suggested it was a joke even going there, but I think they did themselves proud. Nice job GO coaches and team. Nice future ahead for this program.
