Including this and Greco-Roman, these are the two styles that are taking place in the Olympics. If you are from the United States this is a good ol 'power struggle as you know. And if you include track and field, this is one of the oldest sports games in the world. High School and College of struggle is played with a different set of rules.
Wrestling mostly includes submission holds, and the goal is to pin your opponent to the canvas, usually for 3 seconds for an immediate victory. Its origins stem from Catch-as-catch-can struggle. The use of the opponents legs, either for offense or defense is allowed in Freestyle or college. There are four main types of amateur competitive wrestling practiced today. This statement comes from the International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles, or FILA.
FILA Wrestling said began in Britain. Catch-as-catch-can have a lot of people who follow the sport in Britain. In the 19th century the sport gained much popularity. At that time the goal was to fix the shoulder opponents to the ground, and the technique or almost any winery is allowed. The sport had initial problems gaining popularity because the Greco-Roman style was very popular and hogging all the action at the time. The 1904 Olympics was the first San Luis was the first time it was recognized as an Olympic sport.
There were 40 wrestlers who participated in this event and they were all American. Most of the rules used for this event were the same as from Catch-as-catch-can, but there were some restrictions in the cellars of some who were not allowed. In the Summer Olympics, there were seven categories of total weight allowed to participate. The parties that took place in the 19th century were very long, in fact, would be up to 8-9 hours. The winners of that match would be a draw. They began to establish time limits for parties in the 20th century.
