I have been working with Time Warner the last 2 years to get all 8 mats streamed live from the Pepsi Arena (and also archive all the matches for the future). After numerous conference calls, I have let them no it will cost them $0 to do this and I will stream live to their webpage. They have come back and stated that steaming 1 semi-final and 1 final per weight class is enough coverage. They don't feel any other coverage is needed and were not interested in streaming all the matches for both divisions even though it would not cost them any additional money. Our sport is not a priority to them. I am hoping all Time Warner subscribers will let them know what you think. I am very disappointed in their response and have assured them that thousands of viewers would be watching the matches.

Did NYSPHAA sell the rights to Time Warner? If so, for how long? Once the current contract expires, NYS should seriously consider streaming the entire tournament through TrackWrestling, FloWrestling, or another competing service. The entire NYWAY (youth) State tournament was streamed on Track last year so it is certainly possible. Furthermore, there are a ton of people who don't even have TW and aren't about to switch providers simply to get one half of the semis and finals.

It is up to NYSPHAA leadership to make better decisions that will promote our great sport. Selling out to the highest bidder is not always the right choice.
