....must GO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today, another NYS Sectional Champ Tourney + wildcards....in 2 Divisions.

When will those in charge realize that they are not correctly choosing the BEST kids in the State. Guess, it doesnt matter-

History has shown that certain areas throughout NYS have remained constant - while others have regressed since the inception of this Tourney.

While many of you attack me for seeing through this unfair qualifying system. Im paying attention.

ONE STATE- not slices/ sections.

HOW CAN A STATE TOURNAMENT HAVE WRESTLERS WITH DOUBLE DIGIT LOSSES DURING THE YEAR ??????? HOW CAN YOU DISMISS THAT OTHER AREAs ARE NOT BEING REPRESENTED CORRECTLY.

Go to this year's brackets- wrestlers with 7-8-9-10- 11 losses ....and they belong in Albany ???
................................................................

The "Mike Bosco" Syndrome. Mike Bosco wrestled for John Glenn HS earlier '00s- Bosco lost in OT - in the Suffolk semis. He was a senior who never went to Albany in his three Varsity seasons. As a senior- during the year on wrestling trips around the State- Bosco beat 3 future- Sectional Champs..at the UE Duals- Eastern States. They went to Albany that year..Bosco wrestling in the most competitive Section in NYS- was sitting in the bleachers. Remember he lost in the Suffolk semis- in OT.

Sectional format must go and /or send entries by size of area. REGIONAL Format would be more adequate.

NO WAY - WRESTLERS WITH DOUBLE DIGIT LOSSES DURING THE YEAR SHOULD BE AT A STATE TOURNEY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would like to see just one division!

16 or 32 wrestlers at each weight.

Busiello had a pin in his first match ……….took him 24 seconds.

Against a guy with a 21-12 record.

ONE TOURNEY....4 WRESTLERS/ 3 WRESTLER/ 2 WRESTLERS per Section...depending on size

"Props" to Nassau / Section VIII. May be their year in DI...

Section V- solid as ever.

Section XI- always present.

Better Tourney if, they have a WIN/LOSS ratio .....ALL SECTIONs are not equal in qualifying.

I have no problem with one 32 man bracket. It would be a vastly superior tournament.

THEN, TELL ALL THE COACHES- SECTION HEADS TO VOTE AGAINST A 2- DIVISION TOURNAMENT AND HAVE ONE SECTIONAL TOURNAMENT- SENDING MULTIPLE ENTRIES TO ALBANY.

I dont think anyone from Long Island would object.

WHEN.....I SAID WHHHHHEEEEENNNNN !!!!

When will someone realize that Section 5, 11, 8 ....distant 1, 2 . When will some of these Section heads do the RIGHT THING- IN THE NAME OF FAIRNESS.

These three sections have been occupying the TOP of wrestling in New York State....YET, have the same representation for the most part to ALL the other Sections.

Dan Mauriello won a State Title this year- as a (6) seed.....Did you ever hear of Stefan Major. Major lost to Mauriello in the Suffolk Finals - in a SV final score

yet, it is perfect sense to have wrestlers from INFERIOR Sections- filling weight classes as "wildcards"- using a point system that is based by ridiculous formulas. Did anyone see Stefan Major's name in the DI -152 lb bracket ???

If, this Tournament wont change to multiple entries....THEN YOU MUST "REWARD" THE TOP 3- SECTIONS IN YOUR STATE. Forest Gump on his worst day can figure out that it is easier to win in Section ???....than it is in Section V, XI, or VIII.

Why should a kid from a SUPERIOR Section have to be slighted by a ridiculous wildcard system....

Yep.
Major placed 3rd in the Eastern States tournament. Placed ahead of 9 kids who got to wrestle in the state tournament. Beat 4 of them head to head. No WC for you, kid. Because........the criteria!

- criteria...lol

the definitive part "cry".

How many SENIORs through the past 50 years- who were slighted by a RIDICULOUS Section Champ ...ONLY !!! Then came a slight fix a "wildcard" formula that rewards ALL SECTIONs equally- which is absurd.

I suggest that they just STOP- printing a programs with previous results....cause even Ray Charles from 6ft under - can see that the SAME- 2-3 Sections keep finishing on Top.

ONE STATE- not sections.

REWARD- SECTIONs by results at the State Tournament would be a start if, you refuse to go to multiple entries.

example " Section V, XI, VI.....Would have both Section finalists invited to Albany the following year- then let the wildcard find the rest.

It's ok because now all people have to do is take the state to court and sue to have their kids entered into the tournament as long as they have about $10,000 anyone can get in even if you break the rules.

Selection has to happen in a tournament or everything is theoretical, so either have a 1 division tournament with top 4 from each section or use the current format and have a wild card tournament with all 2nd and 3rd place finishers, top 4 go to states.
