Who do you think would have won if they had wrestled?
Will they be remembered as the two best wrestlers to ever come out of Section V?

DeAngelis lost in the NCAA finals.......I hope Gregor can win a Championship or two before he's done.
I hope Gregor gets a shot at Sclatter this year. I like Gregor's style ......very aggressive, he's a tilting monster.
The scoreboard looks like a pinball machine when Gregor's on the mat.

zoltar1, obviously you never watched marty king wrestle, to make a statement like that. marty beat a d1 ncaa champ placed at states 5 years in a row and won 2 times,as a 8th grader he got beat in the finals at 91 lbs by a senior you cant say that about to many 8th graders, in my opinion the best 91 lbs ever out of section 5.best ca wrestlers in order
1.marty king
2.bruce hadsell
3.trevor chinn
4.ron langdon
5.paul lamphier
6.matt king
7.butch hibbard
8.kyle ingraham
9.robert hadsell
10.joe kuras

That's a good list.......but Mike Chappelle should be included......he was very polished......lost in the State final as a junior to the highly regarded Bob Sloand. Chappelle may have won a State championship as a senior if he hadn't suffered a concussion in Sectionals when he was up by 10-0 or something like that.
Robert Hadsell was a tremendous wrestler ........so many moves , slick and strong. Even after being hit by a school bus he was outstanding. He finished 3rd at States as a freshman!
I like Ingraham's ankle pick......sometimes he gets points just six or seven seconds into a match.

I'm not sure who would win between DeAngelis or Gillespie but I recall DeAngelis having some legal problems during his wrestling days at Spencerport.

Gregor had an outstanding HS career but he's really stepped it up since going to Edinboro.......a lot of guys kind of disappear when they go to a D-1 program......Gillespie has done just the opposite. I remember LIMarty saying Gregor needed some moves after Steve Brown beat him in the semi's at States his junior year. Well it sure looks like Gillespie has moves now. Wow! He could be a 4 time AA.
Gregor's Dad does a great job covering the matches on "Brad's Wrestling Page".
