Gene, if I were you I would get your name off this tournament as fast as possible. We have been here 9 1/2 hours and my son has wrestled twice. And as I sit here there are 5 mats with no matches going on. I have supported this tournament for 6 years and this WILL BE the last time I ever will. You should be ashamed of how this tournament has been run. I realize that there are many kids but it could have and should have been run better.

Sitting at the SRC arena for 13 hours has certainly not endeared me to the people running the Gene Mills tournament. This is absolutely ridiculous and they should be ashamed to call this a tournament. It is literal chaos. It's time to turn it over to people who know what they are doing our just call it quits. I predict that it will be nowhere near the size it is next year. Too many unhappy parents, wrestlers and coaches.

I may not have the years of experience as a lot of the other posters here but I have been to enough tournaments over the last couple of years to know that today's Gene Mills tournament was run poorly to say the least. The clinic didn't start anywhere near the 8am time that was mentioned during weigh-ins and it just went south from there. At no point in time did anyone post the brackets for those unfortunate enough NOT to have wifi or access to Trackwrestling. The Wifi issue was blamed for the delay but that doesn't explain how kids were averaging 2 1/2 to 3 hours in between matches, once they finally got to start wrestling that is. There were kids there who hadn't had a single match by 3:30pm. That's over 6 1/2 hours from the scheduled 9am start time without a match. That is inconceivable. There were entire brackets being skipped over for no good reason. The coaches bands were a complete joke. There was absolutely no one checking people entering the mats and security barely made a dent in the numerous and unnecessary extra people in the coaches corners and in the center of the mat. There were matches still going on after 8pm. Well over 12 hours for some of the wrestlers! That's absolutely ridiculous. Then add in the horrible and overpriced food that the arena offers while prohibiting outside food from coming in and you have a miserable day for the wrestlers and their families. I thought last year was bad with the chaos and delay at the awards and podium, this year was unbelievably worse. I seriously doubt we will go back next year

It's not about wrestling, it's about inflated egos and filling pockets!!! It's really sad you make the children suffer.

Trust me. I don't think they are ashamed. They are laughing all the way to the bank. Over a 1000 wrestlers at 40 bucks a wrestler. Plus the rest of the money they made. This tournament has been like this for years and nobody has done anything to fix it. Kids wrestling unit 10:30 at night is beyond uncalled for. Save your money that weekend and do Ohio T of C or Pop n Flo. We will never go to that tournament again.

This is why I stopped taking kids from my team a few years ago. It's been terrible for many years. Previous poster is correct, go to Ohio tournament of champions..
