AAWC Armed Forces Open
Round Robin Wrestling Tournament
March 2nd, 2013
Registration: Pre-registration is required for entry into the tournament. Pre-registration required by February 27th, 2013. Payment required with registration. Open to the first 200 wrestlers. NO Walk-ins!!! Email Entries only for clubs with 10+ wrestlers. Clubs will be responsible for payment for all listed wrestlers regardless!
Location: Alfred Almond High School – 6795 State Route 21 Almond, NY 14804
Entry Fee: $20.00 per wrestler. Fee must be received with registration no later than Wednesday, February 27th. NO REFUNDS!!! Make checks payable to AAWC. There will be a $40 charge on returned checks. Wrestlers may not enter more than one weight group. Mail registration to; Greg Cook 6876 State rt. 21, Almond NY 14804
Time: Wrestling will begin at 9am. Doors will open at 7am. Wrestlers must arrive between 7:30 am & 8:30 am (No later!) to check-in and remain in tournament.
Age Divisions: 6&U, 7&8, 9&10, 11&12, 13&14. Ages as of February 25th, 2013 Modified and JV Welcome!! NO VARSITY EXPERIENCE!!
Weigh-ins: Honor for weights & age. Four Random Weigh-ins per team will take place Saturday morning. 3lb allowance. Skin checks mandatory for all wrestlers between 7am and 8:30am. Challenges before the 2nd round only.
Weight Classes: Weight will be sorted by actual weight and placed in groups of 4 to 6 wrestlers. Directors will try to keep weights in each group as close as possible. We reserve the right to group wrestlers into 3, 4 or 6 man groups if needed. Brackets WILL NOT be changed once posted!
Rules: NYS High School Rules. Three 1 minute periods for a. Division’s I-IV
Bout Length for Division V will be (1 min.-1˝ min. -1˝ min.) Sudden death overtime, 1 minute period with a 30 second ride-out if needed. HEADGEAR IS MANDATORY! Wrestling shoes are encouraged!
Awards: Championship t-shirts for 1st. Dog tags for 1st thru 6th place. Team trophies for 1st thru 4th and sportsmanship to be determined by the NY state certified referees.
Admission: $2.00 adults, $1.00 students. 2 coaches per team admitted free. Concessions will open at 7am and remain open till end of tournament or sold out.
