I would post my observations about the Sodus Rec Tournament. Sure it was a long day, but the folks in Sodus deserve credit for doing the right things. The turnout (probably double the normal) was unbelievable with teams from all over the state.
I noticed very few brackets with kids from the same school in them. Sometimes it can’t be helped, but they did an outstanding job in spliting them. The best job I have seen all season.
They adjusted mats for age groups to keep each gym on the same round. They shifted half an age group to the other gym to get us out. They went in order each round.
After being at both the previosly posted youth tournament messes, a well organized long day is better than a mass confusion long day.
