No one here actually discusses wrestling!

Every time I get on this forum people are gossiping about one another. This at times is slightly entertaining but no one hardly ever talks about the sport that we all love and how we can get better. Hopefully people (athletes) start posting questions about technique so that we all can discuss it instead of all this hypothetical BS. ASK AWAY AND MAYBE SOME OF THE MORE KNOWLEDGABLE READERS WILL HELP OUR ATHLETES GET BETTER!!!! Maybe we should start a technique forum.

Now we got something, so who displays some of the best techniques on the mat?

Takedowns - Best had to be Debruin on the mats in Section V today I would have to say John Martin Cannon comes to mind.

Tilts - Best no doubt was Gregor, he's still using them today. The Padock brothers are tough here Ian being the better of the two when it comes to the tilt.

The old reliable half-nelson, this is the go to for Brian Bourne - he uses constant head pressure to wear people down and then sinks the half in deep.

Stand up - There may have been better but Donnie Zimmerman comes to mind first. Today it has to be Ryan LaMagra.

Ingraham used to crank on one of the nastiest halfs when he was just beginning.

How about these: duck under, fireman's carry, granby, cradle, arm bar, cradle, ankle pick? That's enough for now.

I don't see as many arm bars as I used to, the refs seem to be tougher on on the correct use than they used to be (Is this just me who thinks this?). The Borshoff who graduated last year used them a lot and well.

yeah i see more refs call this as potentionaly dangerous this year if the wrestler does not commit or can not turn the other guy to his back.

That kid from athena at 103 lbs uses some great technique on his doubls and single legs going into a half or cradle. One.Two combinations are the hardest to teach kids but if they can learn to use it, they will be sucessful.

Yes I agree with many of you but what I am talking about something like this. This is more for the young developing kids than many of old farts:)

Wrestler A from Timbucktoo school district is having trouble with his double and is looking for new ways to set it up. He asks the board what would be 2 or 3 good ways to set it up other than his old stand by the head tap:) Do any of you have suggestions for him.
