Accomplished grappler to bolster top-half of line-up

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Franklin & Marshall wrestling program received a commitment from 125-pounder Steven Sabreen of Wexford, Pa. Sabreen currently wrestles for North Allegheny High School, which sits in first place in the WPIAL Class AAA Section 3 Standings with a 4-0 dual meet record.
Sabreen, a two-year captain at North Allegheny, is a two-time WPIAL Class AAA Section 3 Champion, and three-time regional qualifier at 112 pounds with more than 100 career victories to his credit.
"We are thrilled to have landed a quality wrestler from a top-flight program," says Diplomats' mentor Pete Schuyler. "Steve is going to have a positive impact on the program from the moment he walks on campus."
In addition to his wrestling prowess, Sabreen is an accomplished student. An honor roll regular at North Allegheny, Sabreen earned the 2005 President's Award for Education Excellence, and has earned his school's Scholar Athlete Award in three consecutive years. Additionally, Sabreen was credited with a perfect attendance record his freshman and sophomore years.
Franklin & Marshall competes in the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA), which is the nation's oldest Conference founded in 1905. EIWA members include American, Army, Brown, Columbia, Cornell, East Stroudsburg, Harvard, Lehigh, Penn, Princeton, Navy and Rutgers.
