WRESTLING. Sampson College was one of four Associated Colleges of Upper New York (ACUNY) that were created after World War II. The GI Bill offered veterans education entitlements, creating a sudden influx of students for which existing colleges were not prepared. Sampson College was a two-year school designed to get veterans started on their education, then they could continue on at other colleges. The college opened in 1946 and closed in June 1949.
