SWARTHOUT, EAST ALL-AROUND ATHLETE, PROVES HERO OF MAT CONTEST. East High won the city scholastic championship yesterday afternoon at the Central "Y," when they defeated the Technical High team by a 28 to 16 score. Schwartz, who wrestles in the 105-pound class for the Tech team, failed to appear and his absence was a great handicap to Tech. Greg Swarthout, all-around athlete of the East Siders, proved to be the life saver for the Orientals when he stepped right into the 160-pound class and won a judge's decision over Bausch, of Technical.
