WRESTLING. The Akron wrestling team, hampered by youth and inexperience, did a respectable job this season as they finished 5th in the league with a 4-6-1 record. Seniors leading the team were: co-captains Fred Koons and Curtis Abrams, John Hurne and Tom Stuber. Junior Mike Springer was the only wrestler to advance in the sectionals as he finished in third place. SOURCE: 1969 Akronite.
